Admission Guide for International Students

Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College

 I. General Information

Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (hereinafter called “LVTC”) is one of 100 national demonstrative vocational colleges, and one of the only two national demonstrative vocational colleges in Guangxi. LVTC covers an area of 753,000 square meters, with total fixed assets of about RMB 846 million. LVTC has nearly 12,000 full-time students and nearly 800 faculty members, including 314 teachers with postgraduate diploma or master’s degree, and 255 professor and associate professors. It is the higher vocational college with the largest number of teaching teams and renowned teachers at the state and autonomous region levels as well as the most advanced training conditions and the most complete functions in Guangxi.

LVTC has pioneered cooperation and exchanges with 18 countries and regions such as Germany, the UK, the United States, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc. and forged partnerships with more than 10 universities and scientific research institutes in an effort to make mutual recognition of credit, exchange of students, and scientific research cooperation.

LVTC has established 9 schools and 56 majors including Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Repair and Management, Construction Machinery Application Technology, Cloud Computing Technology and Application, Food Testing Technology, Logistics Management, Tourism Management, Fashion and Accessory Design. LVTC is located in Liuzhou, Guangxi, which is an important industrial city in Guangxi and southwest China. It has a long history and provides convenient means of transportation; as well as it is populated by simple and honest people, with a great diversity of cultural and natural landscapes. People use Mandarin Chinese as the standard communication language.

II. Category of Students

Students who receive academic education for a diploma

The length of study lasts three years, and the academic term starts in every September.

     III. Eligibility

Basic requirements: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged 18 or older, holding valid foreign passports, in good health, good conduct, and without criminal records, and should abide by Chinese laws and rules of LVTC. They should also respect Chinese social customs. 

Besides that, applicants must have:

1. Senior high school diploma or above (equivalent to the 6^th grade of high school);

2. Chinese proficiency of HSK level III or above;

3. They can take relevant Chinese tests organized by LVTC and pass the tests if they don’t have HSK certificates at the time of application.

IV. Instructions for Application

1. Application Procedure

Applicants must meet the required admission requirements, with the specific procedure as follows:

1) Applicants can obtain required submission materials and application forms from the International Exchange Office of LVTC, or visit the website: http://www.lzzy.edu.cn/ for “Download” links.

2) Application Materials:

a. Application Form for International Students to Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College

b. Photocopy of certificate of high school diploma or equivalent

c. Academic record certificate and other information

d. Curriculum vitae 

e. Photocopy of valid passport (personal data page)

f. Photocopy of Certificate of HSK (Level III)

g. Electronic copy of photo (passport photo size, white background, within six months)

h. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners

i. Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (if necessary)

Please send the electronic versions of above materials to the International Exchange Office by email (lzzygjc@163.com), and provide Application Form both in scanned and electronic versions after signing.

3) After receiving the above materials, the International Exchange Office will send the Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW202) to those who meet the admission requirements within two weeks.

3) Original of Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW202)

4) 8 passport size photos within 6 months

V. Majors and Tuition

Enrollment Plan

Accommodation fee: 3,600 yuan/year/person for two-person room and 1,800 yuan/year/person for four-person room.

Text book fee: according to actual costs.

Insurance fee: collected by LVTC (international students who have studied for more than six months are required to purchase the Comprehensive Medical Insurance Plan in China).

The cost of living is borne by the students themselves.

VI. Scholarship

LVTC offers two types of scholarships for international students: Freshmen Admission Scholarship and Outstanding Student Scholarship.

Based on HSK test scores of international students and majors they apply for in LVTC, they can apply for Freshmen Admission Scholarship according to their actual situation.

Outstanding Student Scholarship is divided into three categories: first-class, second-class and third-class.

VII. Certificate

Students who pass the registration of enrollment, complete the curriculum within the prescribed period of time, fulfill the graduation requirements and have no disciplinary action will receive graduation certificates.

Students who fail to meet the graduation requirements may receive certificates of completion. Those who have completed their studies may return to LVTC to apply for re-study or make-up within the maximum length of schooling stipulated by LVTC (including suspension of schooling and student status retention). If they meet the graduation requirements after examination, they will be issued with graduation certificates.

Students who have studied for more than one academic year and dropped out of school will receive certificates of incompletion/attendance/study upon their own application. For students who have not studied in LVTC for one academic year, LVTC may issue descriptive certificates of study upon their own application.
